Fide Yetiştirme Problemleri / Seedling Problems
Hello to everyone In this video I want to talk about the problems that you will encounter while growing seedlings. Your seeds may not sprout. Why don’t the seeds sprout? Your first consideration is that your seeds may be too old. It may not be stored in the appropriate conditions. As a result germination rate is low. Germination rate will be low as the seeds stored in humid and warm environment will probably be damaged. Other issues that need to be considered may be sowing seeds too deep. Each seed should sow as deep as necessary. Someone may be taking the seeds. Ants and insects may take mall seeds, birds or squirrel may take large seeds. If you wash the seeds with excess water after sowing, it may also run off with the water. This is one of the reasons your seeds do not germinate. The second problem is the decay of the seeds. Instead of moist environment, seeds begin to rot in excess wet conditions. Or, after it starts to sprout, its roots rot. Excess watering causes diseases such as mold and collapse. It is therefore necessary to keep the seeds in a damp, non-wet environment. You can learn this in a few experience. Next year (2020) I will show how much and how to use water for seedlings. Seeds require water and the soil should not dry between two waterings. There should be air flow in the seedling growing environment. The sprouting seeds grow thinly. In my experiments, I came across this situation very often. Seeds germinate when you provide the appropriate temperature and humidity medium. Then it grows thinly without stopping. The most important reason for this situation is the distance from the light source. The plant cannot get enough light and it grows to reach the light. It should therefore be close to the light source. The second reason is crowded sprouting. In the case of frequent sprouting, the seedlings grow apart to reach the light. After sprouting there should be air flow in the environment. Thus, the body of the seedlings are strengthened. You will prevent it from thinning. If thin and long seedlings are formed, you can bury them in a little soil and allow them to grow normally. Sprouts sometimes collapse. Flies that resemble fruit flies in wet soil lay eggs in to the soil, causing fungus mosquitoes to feed in the environment, causing the seedlings to collapse. It spreads in a few days, causing all shoots to collapse. It should not be watered too much to prevent collapse. Cinnamon can be sprinkled as an inhibitor. Disinfecting seedling growing viols before planting is also very preventive. Airflow is one of the most important factors that prevent fungal diseases. Clean seedling cultivation soil prevents most diseases. I’ve shot a video about preparing seedling growing soil before. You must prepare the mixture healthy. This is the probable problem you will encounter when growing seedlings. I hope this video has been useful to you. See you in the next videos.
