Fighting monopoly in the music industry

Fighting monopoly in the music industry

We are taking this to the next level, in many ways. Bunnies are nice! This week, we will not stick to the schedule. Instead, we will talk about fundamental topics. Why we are doing this, where we want to go and how our activities will benefit the world. Values. Vision. Mission. Exactly. Good timing. Yes. The whole music industry has been dominated by majors, software monopoly and, now, big internet services. They have gone way too far. We are changing this. Can it be changed? CISAC publishes the list of CWR senders. Matija highlights those who have used his tools. The list is growing, but so is the share of highlighted ones. And several other services run our CWR-related code. That monopoly is dead. We have to move on. We have to help the small players grow and grow with them. This is where we have to take things to the next level. And make some choices! So far, we were only dealing with Django Music Publisher. I was told we started with it because it was for the smallest players in the industry. And publishing-first policy. True, but we need to help them sustain their growth. And that means expanding the products towards small record labels and larger publishers. At the same time? No. And this is the hard part. But, it is the right week for this process. But, it is also the time for the kids to go to sleep. BEAR! Don’t worry. The cartoon is over.
