Pete Davidson skips comedy gig after being ‘disrespected’ by club owner. This wasn’t a laughing matter for Pete Davidson. The “Saturday Night Live” star skipped out on a stand-up gig in Bridgeport, Conn., on Monday after the comedy venue’s owner apparently told the audience not to mention Ariana Grande or Kate Beckinsale during his set, TMZ reported. The 25-year-old Davidson believed that Vinnie Brand owner of Vinnie Brand’s Stress Factory was being overly sarcastic and ended up leaving, sources told the celebrity gossip website. Davidson addressed the situation in a video shared to his Instagram story. “I’m sorry that we had to leave the show before I got to go on,” he said. “The owner, Vinnie Brand, disrespected me and did
something that I told him not to do and I can’t perform under those
circumstances Davidson then promised he would hold a
free show to those who purchased tickets to Monday’s event soon saying he was
working out the details The comic had been romantically linked to Beckinsale this year but recent rumors suggest they’ve split. He and Grande broke up in October after getting engaged several months earlier. On Monday night, Brand played Davidson’s Instagram video on a projector at his comedy venue and slammed the comic’s allegations. “(In) no way in the world would I ever disrespect any comedian,” he told the crowd to cheers. “If you look at the walls of the Stress Factory, you will see bona fide superstars who that have worked for us for years.” He continued, “Pete Davidson, I didn’t disrespect you. Your security guy told me to say what I said. If you got (a) bad security guy, you should’ve fired your … security guy.
